Role description

Are you experienced in environmental permitting? Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is looking for an Environmental Permitting Manager to deliver successful permit applications as they continue the site evaluation process for the GDF. You will be the go-to for advice on all permitting matters.


Your key duties will be:

  • Deliver Environmental Permit applications for radioactive and non-radioactive substances activities required to enable site investigation and development of a GDF
  • Advise RWM on satisfying requirements of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 and associated regulatory guidance
  • Develop processes within the RWM Management System to lead the delivery of Environmental Permit applications for radioactive and non-radioactive substances activities
  • Ensure Environmental Permitting requirements are communicated to and understood by those within RWM and its supply chain responsible for delivering elements of environmental permit applications and those responsible for contributing to compliance, and that adequate arrangements for compliance are in place.
  • Establish relationships with the supply chain to deliver needs as appropriate for the GDF programme, ensuring timely and effective delivery of applications
  • Lead engagement with the relevant regulators on the development of guidance relating to Environmental Permitting of radioactive and non-radioactive substances activities
