Role description

RWM has an exciting opportunity for a Plutonium Technical Integrator who will provide support to the Project Manager of RWM’s plutonium wasteform integrated project by developing the specification of detailed descriptions of the activities necessary and overseeing their delivery. In addition, you will confirm the completeness of the planning, including review of work to be performed by each party, expected deliverables and results, deliverable dates and project milestones, stage gates, risks and interdependencies.


As a Plutonium Technical Integrator, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership, direction and guidance to the plutonium wasteform integrated project technical team.
  • Develop technical scopes of work and contractual documentation and oversee our work in the supply chain and academia.
  • Evaluate, critique and suggest improvements, if necessary, for the test programme and its execution.
  • Ensure that issue tracking and problem resolution follow a standard process between all project parties.
  • Provide authoritative advice to RWM to enable the company to deliver its commitments to the NDA in the area of plutonium disposition.
  • Provide a sustained transuranic wasteform expertise to RWM in support of the development of its environmental safety case as it develops over the next two decades and beyond.

Essential skills

To be successful in this role you will have experience of experimental studies using standard wasteform leaching tests. In addition, you will have a degree in relevant science or engineering subjects, as well as a PhD or extensive relevant experience in bulk plutonium chemistry/material science.
