Working in support of Longenecker & Associates, Thomas Thor USA is currently seeking a  Project Controls Specialist for Sandia National Laboratory.  This is a permanent position to be based in Albuquerque, NM.

Role description

Longenecker and Associates and Sandia National Laboratory are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support their vision and strategy.


  • Identifies interdependencies in cross-functional projects
  • Accountable for managing a PMB, including change control
  • Administer strong critical thinking skills while demonstrating Project Management capabilities
  • Administer schedule development and maintenance, statusing, coaching others, and helping set up best practices for schedule focused activities

Essential skills

We are currently recruiting applicants that are legally entitled to work in the United States of America and have an Active US DOE Q Clearance (or the ability to obtain a Q Clearance).

  • Bachelors of Science degree with 4 years relevant experience. In lieu of a degree 9 years’ experience with Project Controls, Integrated Scheduling and Primavera 6 will be considered.
  • Ability to integrate schedules, attach and manage baselines
  • Strong proficiency in Excel required
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project Software with complex schedules
  • Knowledge of scheduling in an EVM environment or developmental environment
  • DOE, DOD or Nuclear industry experience highly preferred
  • Ability to integrate information from multiple sources to form a comprehensive perspective·
  • Skilled at analyzing setbacks and seek honest feedback to learn from mistakes
  • Translates vision and policy into concrete work activities
