Passionate about community outreach? Radioactive Waste Management is looking for a Social Responsibility Manager to join us as we partner with local communities in siting a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF).

Role description

Your initial focus will be the review and development of strategies, policies and programmes, as they relate to Social Responsibility, as well as implementing new policy within the organisation.

Responsibilities

You will be a key link in bringing together senior management and stakeholders as well as to;

  • Develop effective Social Responsibility programmes encompassing workplace, community and environmental issues that align with RWMs business objectives.
  • Implement curriculum support materials and programmes for schools and young people.
  • Promote and deliver a programme of employee engagement/ volunteering, working with internal and external stakeholders to build a culture of effective community engagement.
  • Support work on the delivery of RWMs social responsibility activity in relation to activities promoted by RWMs parent body, the Nuclear Decommissioning Agency (NDA).
  • Assist on community, socio-economic, political and environmental issues for RWM staff up to and including Board level.
  • Coordinate implementation of project activities, including budgetary and risk management, and monitor progress against established quality criteria and the project plan milestones.

Essential skills

Your experience working with young people and schools, community engagement, or social responsibility / sustainability, and your confidence in managing and implementing associated policies will be key in your success. As you will be working to build key relationships, previous experience within areas such as; education, employee volunteering, social value, or green procurement would be an advantage.
