Role description

Are you an experienced Sub-surface Investigation or Resource Exploration Project Manager who wants to test themselves leading one of the largest and most complex site characterisation programmes in the UK for a nationally significant multi £billion infrastructure project?

Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead its Site Characterisation work for the programme to select a site and develop a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) for the UK.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the first phase of non-intrusive investigations in the form of large-scale seismic surveys, managing the development of RWM’s Site Characterisation capability, and procuring and managing intrusive site characterisation activities, including boreholes 1-2 km deep.

Essential skills

The GDF is a complex piece of infrastructure that is predominantly underground so experience leading subsurface characterisation projects is essential. Experienced within the Oil & Gas, Mining, Nuclear or other highly regulated sectors would be advantageous.

  • You will receive a competitive base salary, an annual bonus of up to 35% of that, a car allowance, and one of the most generous pensions currently available in the UK (Civil Service Alpha Pension Scheme).
  • With an organisation that is to grow from 200 people to 500 people over the next 4 years, your responsibilities will expand with it. As a result this role offers you the opportunity to develop both your skill set and your career.
  • Your life outside of work is important to RWM and so they would welcome a conversation about any flexibility that you may require to meet both your home and professional commitments.
