Role Overview: As a Design Change Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the management of engineering design activities, ensuring seamless coordination between project teams, and facilitating efficient engineering work planning. Your responsibilities will encompass interfacing with various engineering teams, developing detailed schedules, and supporting teams in achieving project milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Management: Create and manage detailed schedule logic interfaces for design control package activities, ensuring alignment with task activities and milestones.
  • Resource and Budget Support: Support project fiscal year schedule, resource, and budget planning efforts to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Change Management: Initiate and facilitate change process approvals for new engineering activities, adhering to project scheduling standards.
  • Task Breakdown: Align and manage the breakdown of high-level engineering tasks into discrete activity schedules for multiple design teams.
  • Team Coordination: Assist in coordinating technical integration team meetings and status updates to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Resource Forecasting: Verify and track team assignments within schedules, manage resource leveling, and provide resource forecasting on a weekly basis.
  • Standardization: Develop, refine, and manage standard design activity sequences to prepare for future design phases and procurement activities.
  • Status Reporting: Gather status reports from design teams, update project reporting venues, and provide regular status updates to engineering leaders.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Project Management: Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in project management, with preference for PMP certification.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in project management of engineering activities in the nuclear field, or similar energy, infrastructure, or aerospace sectors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of technical schedule management, including project reporting, logic sequences, and resource forecasting.
  • Tools Knowledge: Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools is advantageous. Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Confluence and JIRA is a plus.
  • Control Principles: Knowledge of design control and configuration control principles is desired.
  • Problem Solver: Capability to handle projects with competing objectives and design constraints, resolving conflicts between priorities.
