We are seeking an exceptional engineer for our client’s groundbreaking Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) project, in Bellevue, Washington. **Key Responsibilities:**
*Address safeguards/non-proliferation challenges unique to fast-spectrum molten salt reactors.
*Develop strategies ensuring non-diversion of nuclear material from MCFRs.
*Perform research into emerging scientific capabilities relevant for advanced reactor safeguarding.
*Craft innovative concepts and technologies that minimize risks associated with next-generation reactors like the MCFR.
*Incorporate proactive safety design principles during early stages of reactor development.
*Promote understanding across teams regarding security implications inherent in plant designs.
*Work closely with stakeholders including DOE NNSA, IAEA, NRC on consensus building for novel approaches.
*Lead multidisciplinary efforts towards robust safeguard strategy formulation.
**Qualifications & Skills:**
* Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher preferred – Degrees should be held in engineering science or related fields complemented by experience emphasizing nuclear non-proliferation activities
* Minimum two years’ professional experience needed but five years’ postgraduate work highly regarded
*Extensive knowledge applying various methodologies specific to safeguards/anti-nuclear proliferation measures will serve well here
*Familiarity gained through direct engagement with domestic/international protective frameworks lends considerable strength
*Understanding MBAs alongside Material Control & Accounting programs provides solid operational foundations
*Experience pertinent toward bulk handling facility management beneficially supplements candidate profiles
*Expertise aligning fuel cycle advancements against potential misuse enhances candidacy
