Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician or Supervisor looking to share your expertise? We’re seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Instructor to develop and deliver top-notch training programs. This is a 1099 contract role, ideal for someone passionate about mentoring the next generation of mechanical professionals.
Work Location: Onsite, Covert, Michigan
Contract Length: 12 months, potential extension depending on project needs and
individual performance
Contract Details:
1099 Assignment, No benefits provided.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement Mechanical Maintenance training programs.
- Create a structured training schedule and integrate curriculum effectively.
- Identify and address student performance gaps with targeted remediation.
- Analyze exam results to assess student understanding and program effectiveness.
- Oversee student behavior and knowledge demonstrations.
- Address training gaps based on student feedback and management observations.
- Communicate program challenges and student progress in a timely manner.
- Maintain program configuration control using Vision™ software.
- Conduct On-The-Job Training (OJT) and laboratory evaluations.
- Participate in Academic Review Boards and technician field observations.
- Collaborate with training committees, job performance analysts, and peer groups to align training with operational needs.
Education:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: INPO or site-certified instructor for an accredited program.
Experience:
Required:
- 10+ years as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or Supervisor in an operational setting.
Preferred:
- 5+ years providing knowledge and skills-based training in an accredited program.
- 5+ years executing all phases of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process (ADDIE methodology).
- 5+ years delivering technical fundamentals training in maintenance.
- 5+ years designing accredited training programs (curriculum development, scheduling, governance).
- 5+ years managing Vision™ software database.
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong knowledge of Vision™ software for training program management.
- Expertise in the SAT process (ACAD 02-001) and industry training governance.
- Understanding of OJT/TPE processes for technical skill assessment.
