For a major nuclear new build programme in the Netherlands, we are seeking an experienced BIS Fuel Advisor to support the digital management of nuclear fuel across the programme.
The role ensures that Business Information Systems (BIS) effectively support fuel lifecycle management, safeguards and regulatory compliance, working closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Licensing and IT/Data teams.

Role Purpose

To align nuclear fuel management and regulatory requirements with the programme’s Business Information Systems and ensure secure, auditable and compliant fuel data across the full lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define functional and technical requirements for fuel management within BIS.
  • Ensure BIS supports IAEA and Euratom safeguards and material accountancy.
  • Define digital processes for tracking fuel assemblies, enrichment and burn-up.
  • Integrate fuel logistics into ERP and programme systems.
  • Support vendor and system evaluations from a fuel and data perspective.
  • Define digital documentation for fuel transport, receipt and handling.
  • Ensure BIS enables compliance with Dutch nuclear material regulations.
  • Act as advisor for audits related to fuel and material accountancy.
  • Support Licensing with auditable fuel data structures.

Required Experience & Profile

Essential

  • Senior experience in nuclear fuel cycle management, nuclear engineering or nuclear physics.
  • Proven experience working with Business Information Systems, ERP platforms or dedicated Nuclear Material Accountancy and Control (NMAC) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of international safeguards and nuclear fuel regulatory requirements (IAEA / Euratom).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into practical digital and data processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively between nuclear specialists and IT / system architecture teams.

Preferred

  • Experience within European nuclear programmes and exposure to the Dutch regulatory environment.
  • Background in nuclear fuel procurement and/or radioactive waste management.
  • Familiarity with data security standards for sensitive nuclear information.
  • Relevant certifications in nuclear engineering and/or information management.
