What This Role Offers
Location: Fully Remote within the contiguous U.S.
Type: Full-Time | Remote | 12-Month Contract – High likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs
Schedule: M-F
Salary Range: $50.00 – $80.00 per HOUR (negotiable)

Responsibilities
-
Serve as subject matter expert for civil structural design, resolving complex technical issues and coordinating with interdisciplinary stakeholders and management.

Perform structural analyses and design for Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures using applicable codes and design software, including finite element method (FEM) analyses.

Design structures across material types including reinforced concrete and structural steel; post-process analytical results and produce design documentation.

Interface with the Licensing team to support domestic and international regulatory efforts.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and external structural consultants to resolve design issues and advance project activities.

Lead technical activities and provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers.

Develop, review, and approve requirements documents, methodology documents, design reports, and technical studies.

Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams, applying broad awareness of related engineering fields.

Propose innovative design solutions for highly complex, multi-scope structural challenges requiring significant independent judgement.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 12 years of full-time structural design engineering experience in a nuclear or closely related high-consequence industry.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution required; advanced degree preferred.

In-depth experience with structural concrete and steel design and analysis, including finite element methods.

Working knowledge of applicable nuclear and structural codes including ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, AISC N690, and the AISC Steel Construction and Seismic Design Manuals.

Familiarity with ANSYS and/or SAP2000 preferred.

Understanding and demonstrated implementation of nuclear quality assurance requirements under 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1.

Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 required.

Computer programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) are a plus.
