Job Summary
Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Power Uprate Project in the Mid Atlantic Area. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a System/Commissioning Engineer for the power uprate for the Units. The engineer is responsible for sponsoring and implementing power uprate modifications.
Job Responsibilities
* Assess the required scope of work and exploring various alternative solutions for required modifications.
* Sponsor plant modifications through the plant approval process.
* Fulfill the role of the system lead engineer for modifications.
* Ensure adequate systems integration and fulfill the role of plant systems subject matter experts
* Support changes to the Preventive maintenance and Surveillance Program
* Identify Critical Spare parts
* Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.
* Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing
* Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
* Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
* Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
* Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Electrical Design Engineering Manager.
* Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization
Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
* BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Controls or related Engineering or related technical degree 13 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in controls system engineering
* Availability for shift work during installation.
* Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
* Must possess a valid US driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired:
* Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
* Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification
* Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
