Mechanical Technical Lead – MOV-AOV

We have a current opportunity for a AOV/MOV Lead on a permanent basis. This position involves conducting in-field walkdowns, reviewing procedures and materials, assessing support needs, analyzing schedules for efficiency, and providing technical support during refueling outages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct In-Field Walkdowns & Maintenance – Perform inspections and maintenance on MOVs, AOVs, and other valve types, including lubrication, packing replacement, limit switch adjustments, torque switch settings, and diagnostic testing.

• AOV-Specific Maintenance – Calibrate and tune positioners, replace solenoids and tubing, inspect for air leaks, replace diaphragms, and conduct as-found/as-left testing and diagnostics.

• Procedure & Work Instruction Reviews – Ensure sufficient detail in procedures and instructions for technicians to perform high-quality work.

• Material & Tool Assessments – Review required materials, consumables, and tooling, referencing OEM manuals, prints, and diagrams to identify necessary parts.

• Support & Schedule Optimization – Identify support needs (scaffolding, rigging, insulation, etc.), review schedules, and provide technical assistance to maximize efficiency during refueling outages.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Minimum of 5 years MOV/AOV experience, or an equivalent number of years of education and experience.
• Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily mechanical maintenance duties.
• Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric.
