Adding value and expertise to a growing global organization also operating in Canada, our client Moltex Energy Canada, is currently in search for a Chief Commercial Officer.  This is a permanent position based in New Brunswick, Canada.

Role description

As the Chief Commercial Officer, you will develop and lead commercial and business development activities to position the company for commercial success in North America and worldwide.

Responsibilities

As the Chief Commercial Officer, you will develop and lead commercial and business development activities to position the company for commercial success in North America and worldwide.

  • As an influencer and advocate you will lobby provincial and national governments: expanding relationships with civil servants and politicians to increase support for Moltex, including securing funding. You will also work with the lobbyists and PR firms.
  • You will lead the pursuit of private equity investment and, in future years, the establishment of project financing for the first and subsequent reactor builds.
  • You will build relationships with potential customers – owners/operators in Canada, the US and worldwide.
  • You will build, maintain, and foster strong links with the First Nations communities.
  • You will represent the organization at external events and industry functions.
  • You will contribute to the development of corporate strategy by providing key insights on how to attain and maintain business growth; you will lead the business planning process for the company.
  • In consultation with your direct report (the Communications Director) you will oversee marketing activities including writing marketing materials, engaging with the press, managing social media and conferences and events.

Essential skills

You are highly articulate and a passionate communicator possessing strong verbal and written communication skills, combined with excellent influencing and presentation skills.

  • You have developed a corporate strategy and have strong business acumen.
  • You hold a post- secondary degree in a Science or Economic discipline or another related field.
  • You have sales, marketing, and public relations experience in a complex business, including experience in dealing with both public and private sectors.
  • You have an in-depth understanding of government structures, processes and decision making.
  • You are experienced in implementing business development and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment and highly regulated industries.
  • You are an experienced and capable presenter to both technical and non-technical groups, with particular skills in explaining technology to non-technical audiences.

Desired skills

  • Direct experience in the nuclear or energy industry in North America could be valuable.
  • Fluency in other languages including French would be useful.
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline
