We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join us on a major nuclear new-build project for a two-year mission, with a possibility of extension based on project status and individual performance.

Role description

The overall mission of Project Contract Management is to facilitate the successful completion of the Project while protecting the short and long-term interests of the Company.

The Contract Manager will be a member of the Project Contract Management team. According to the specific tasks assigned to the Contract Manager, s/he will be required to collaborate widely across the Project team, with operational disciplines as well as other support disciplines, in particular, legal, scheduling, finance and supply chain. In addition, s/he may be required to participate in meetings with the Client.

Responsibilities

  • Developing constructive contractual relationships with the Client via a consistent approach in regular meetings and in contractual correspondence;
  • Building defensive/offensive claim dossiers for the Client to mitigate recurrent as well as specific contract-closeout risks;
  • Proactively advising the Project Director on contractual aspects;
  • Increasing awareness and implementing behavioral changes among the operational project team with respect to contractual opportunities, risks and obligations;
  • Coordinating closely with other on-site support functions, in particular, the time schedule (delay analysis and tracking), supply chain (subcontractor claims and contract closeouts) and finance (cost analysis of changes and claims) teams.

Essential skills

  • At least 10 year’s experience as a Contract Manager, of which at least 5 years spent on Supplier side on multi-billion complex industrial and multicultural projects in sectors such as energy, building or transport.
  • Able to rapidly and sufficiently understand the crux of a given subject, often technical and complex in nature, be able to extract the essence of the contractual issue and express it clearly and concisely, especially in writing.
  • Experience in reviewing and processing official correspondence.
  • Fluent English.
