We are currently looking for a Contract Manager for our Client in Olkiluoto, Finland. We are offering challenging work in an international project environment.

Role description

The overall mission of Project Contract Management on OL3 is to facilitate the successful completion of the OL3 Project while protecting the short and long-term interests of AREVA, including in particular:

developing constructive contractual relationships with our client and with our consortium partner;

protecting the forecast margin at project completion by:

o ensuring that the contractual scope of works is delivered (not more and not less);

o negotiating and agreeing contractual changes (scope/timeline/conditions);

o defending AREVA against claims from (and, if necessary, launching claimsagainst) our client and consortium partner;

o managing unexpected events such as force majeure / accidents.


The Contract Manager is responsible for:

– developing constructive contractual relationships with TVO and with Siemens via a consistent approach in regular meetings and in contractual correspondence;

– building defensive/offensive claim dossiers for TVO and Siemens to mitigate recurrent as well as specific contract-closeout risks;

– ensuring a single aligned approach with the existing internal teams in France and Germany managing the current arbitration proceedings and in the preparation of future claims not dealt with in the current arbitration;

– proactively advising the Project Director on contractual aspects;

– increasing awareness and implementing behavioural changes among the operational project team with respect to contractual opportunities, risks and obligations;

– coordinating closely with other on-site support functions, in particular, the time schedule (delay analysis and tracking), supply chain (subcontractor claims and contract closeouts) and finance (cost analysis of changes and claims) teams

Essential skills

– 5 to 10 years experience

– Highly effective communication skills in spoken and written English

– Experience in contractual and commercial negotiations

– Experience in a project management function on a large infrastructure project

– Experience on a construction site, preferably in commissioning phase

– Excellent transverse management skills

– Ability to thrive in multi-cultural environments

– French, German and/or Finnish considered an advantage
