For our global client, investing heavily in their R&D department, we are looking for a technician in engineering, physics or chemistry with knowledge of process technologies to join this mid-sized company with low hierarchy and great development opportunities on a permanent basis.

Role description

As a Lab Operator in the Decommissioning Test Facility (DTF), you will execute experimental programmes and support the development and up-keeping of the lab facilities & associated know-how.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • R&D:
    Execution of experimental programmes on time, efficiently, safely and to high quality and support in developing implementation plans for the experimental programme.
    Document test results and support in preparing the documents necessary within the experimental programme.
  • Support&Infrastructure:
    Execute all activities in the labs and Support lab maintenance activities as required.
    Support on the implementation of required equipment, modify the lab infrastructure and identify the best equipment and set-up for specific experiments.
    Provide input on lab development opportunities, to ensure it is fit for today’s and anticipated future demands
  • Capabilities & Knowledge:
    Collating know-how for test equipment and know-how gathered during testing.
    Provide input on new technological developments of potential relevance to the lab.
    Ensure that new external technological developments are assessed for their relevance and potential application in the lab

Essential skills

You have a degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Physic and some professional experience ideally within a test facility, laboratory or manufacturing/process environment.

The ability to operate & maintain analytic equipment as well as conducting experiments independently are the key skills mastering this role.

You have knowledge in process technologies, and preferably you are also familiar with dismantling, decommissioning and disposal technologies.

Basic understanding of project management, awareness of health & safety regulations and skills in documenting experiments and results are considered as a benefit when applying for the role.
