Role description

RWM oversees and influences the management of Higher Activity Waste (HAW) and is at the forefront of identifying and delivering solutions to a myriad of industry challenges. RWM lends support to the NDA for developing and delivering the strategy for nuclear decommissioning, disposal and waste management. So, would you like to be part of the HAW programme delivery team?

RWM has an exciting opportunity for an individual with a technical nuclear waste background that has spent time within a project delivery setting.


Essential skills

  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Knowledge of key radioactive waste management practices e.g. Waste Hierarchy application, Waste Characterisation etc.
  • Knowledge of Site Licence Company, Treatment Facility, Regulator operation and interactions with RWM.
  • Knowledge of NDA and Government strategies, as well as having an understanding of what they are and how they need to be applied, with examples of Integrated Waste Management and the Nuclear Sector Deal

The ideal candidate should hold relevant qualifications within a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, but over and above this, the focus is upon experience and a desire to be part of something which will leave a legacy.
