“The Dragon reactor is at an exciting point in its decommissioning lifecycle. This role is to support the ongoing installation and commissioning of plant and equipment to undertake the remote core segmentation and process the resulting waste. The role will then form a key part of the engineering team supporting core decommissioning operations, providing novel solutions to unique engineering challenges.”

As the Design Engineer you will contribute to the development and maintenance of requirements management and related systems engineering products and capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of engineering installation and commissioning activities
• Provide design engineering solutions across the product lifecycle
• Support in-service plant and equipment involved in core decommissioning and waste processing operations
• Ensure that design compliance is adhered to during decommissioning, waste export and building reconfiguration activities

Skills and Experience

• Relevant Mechanical or Civil Engineer degree, HNC / NQF or working towards
• Chartered Status desirable, Magnox provides the opportunity to support chartership status
• Experience in an Engineering role – Mechanical/Civil
• Experience in project engineering in the nuclear industry preferred
