Our  client an International Engineering Organisation are looking for an Electrical Construction Manager to work on a Major Nuclear New Build Project in the South West.

The role will be focusing on the delivery preparation and project planning elements to solve the logistical and technical construction challenges that require overcoming, before moving to site.

Role description

As part of a small team of Construction Managers, you will lead a team to  achieve a fully integrated ‘all perspectives and specialisms’ plan for delivery that is joined-up and utilises different skills, strengths and expertise.


  • Ensure Nuclear Safety Culture is maintained within the areas of responsibility whilst maintaining a challenging attitude to others.
  • Provide leadership of the teams you manage and control, both in pre- construction and during Construction on-site
  • Manage and develop positive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders ranging from industrial partners to suppliers or even client representatives to create efficient delivery of pre construction and construction with a view to optimising opportunities and strengthening the relationships

Essential skills

  • Significant experience in a management or leadership role on a major industrial construction or engineering project of a high financial value either as a Senior Project Manager or Construction manager (or equivalent) in a key project capacity.
  • Prior experience of managing industrial partners and relationships on a complex construction project
  • A background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or similar via a graduate, recognised apprenticeship or ‘time served’ route.
  • Suitable safety and site accreditations e.g. CSCS Card / CCNSG (or equivalent).
  • Excellent influencing and leadership skills
