Energy Manager

The purpose of the role is to manage, update and ensure the implementation of the company’s Carbon Management Plan. This will involve identifying the specific areas of energy usage and carbon emissions, quantifying the energy consumption and carbon emissions, determining opportunities for cost effective and sustainable energy improvements and carbon reductions, ensuring the implementation of measures to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions, and monitoring and reporting on energy consumption and carbon emissions. This will involve benchmarking performance against other operators within the NDA group and similar industries, and ensuring that any changes to operations, activities and behaviours needed to achieve the improvements are implemented in an appropriate way.”

As an Energy Manager, you will join a growing team and have the ability to use your experience on nuclear sites, or other high hazard sites/industries, to enable reducing energy and water usage and carbon emissions. Additionally, as an Energy Manager you will;

  • Create and maintain strategic plans on carbon reduction and energy management
  • Develop and monitor appropriate key performance indicators and company metrics for energy and carbon performance
  • Carry out trending and analysis of utility data to identify leaks, significant users, and issues
  • Ensure compliance with current and emergent legislative requirements relating to carbon emissions and energy efficiency

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified / professional qualification
  • A proven track record of delivering carbon and energy efficiencies in a similarly complex industry
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant standards and legislation
  • Experience at nuclear sites or other high hazard industries
  • Effective verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicateat all levels
