We currently have two exciting opportunities for Global Category Leads (GCL) which also come with the added benefit of supporting a flexible base location.

Role description

The holders of these positions will be tasked with developing and executing strategies to manage spend within their relative areas, one within Facilities for hard and soft services (energy, land and building leases categories) and the other within MRO (technical services, tooling, protective equipment, oils, gases, spare parts and maintenance materials).

In both areas, strategies will require cross functional alignment and may include alternative sources, including low cost countries, and leveraging category spend globally, with a focus upon safety, cost efficiencies, quality, innovation and the most effective supply chain models to service this business model.

A key success factor is being able to clearly articulate the category vision, as well as influencing the organisation, and the roles will also be a key contributor to the strategic goals of the supply chain. Being an agent for change whilst also being sympathetic to nuances and cultures is also key.

A more detailed brief is available upon request.

Responsibilities

Day to day, the posts will optimise total cost of ownership, and manage supplier risk, while meeting business stakeholders’ requirements within their assigned categories. They will also deliver excellence in procurement activities through a structured category management process including: spend analytics, strategy development, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement.

Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate their experience of working within either of the discipline fields, having established supply chain experience along with category leadership/ management within a global setting (essential). However, it may be that you are looking for further development within category management which the client is absolutely open to.

Essential skills

Whilst a degree is preferred, suitable equivalent qualifications are welcomed and an MBA is highly desirable.

The client is open to individuals based in Sweden (Västerås) or in France (Orsay), and interest is welcomed from applicants who are multi-language speakers, noting that English (fluent level written and spoken) is essential.
