Role description

The Graduate R&D Chemist will work in Moltex’s R&D department to complete chemistry and chemistry-related work that supports the development of Moltex nuclear technologies, including the Stable Salt Reactor – Wasteburner (SSR-W) and the WAste To Stable Salt (WATSS) facility.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Deliver work packages in support of Moltex technology development
  • Plan and execute deliverables as directed by the senior chemistry team
  • Perform desktop studies (e.g., using HSC/FACTSAGE, etc.) in support of the chemical processes being considered for Moltex technologies
  • Develop and conduct chemical experiments in support of Moltex technologies
  • Gather, analyze and report on experiment results
  • Present findings to the senior chemistry team and department and project director

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters’ or higher degree (industrial experience beneficial)
  • Experience working in a dynamic team environment
  • Experience working with analytical equipment
  • Practical laboratory experience and willingness to work with high temperature materials
  • Experience planning and executing experiments
  • Willingness to work to challenging deadlines on projects for industrial customers
  • Practical and pragmatic individual motivated to deliver laboratory results that move the Moltex mission forward.
