Role description

Are you experienced with land use planning applications? Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is looking for Land Use Planning Manager to deliver successful planning applications (including Development Consent Orders) as they continue the site evaluation process for the GDF. You will be the go-to for advice on all planning matters.


Your key duties will be:

  • Deliver Development Consent Order applications required to enable site investigation and development of a GDF.
  • Ensure arrangements are in place for the discharge of all DCO requirements to allow site investigation and GDF construction to begin.
  • Ensure land use planning requirements are communicated and understood within RWM and relevant work is compliant with those requirements e.g. delivery of pre-application consultation, delivery and resolution of statements of common ground.
  • Establish relationships with the supply chain to deliver DCO needs as appropriate for the GDF programme, ensuring timely and effective delivery of applications for consent.
  • Lead engagement with the planning inspectorate and relevant regulator(s) on matters in relation to development consent order applications.
  • Develop and deliver internal training programmes to raise awareness and understanding of land use planning requirements, in particular DCO.
