Role description

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and the United States.
  • Technicians will be required to pass a drug screen prior to being allowed on customer sites.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international customer sites. Extensive travel required during Spring and Fall. Duration of each work assignment is typically two weeks ‐ two months. This job posting is for seasonal work to support the Spring nuclear peak outage season. Some Fall nuclear outage work may be required. Outside of these peak periods this position is not required to support other duties
  • Ability and willingness to pass Fitness for Duty requirements and site security requirements (includes background investigation, drug testing, psychological exam, and access training) to obtain and maintain unescorted access to US and International Nuclear Plant Sites
  • Ability and willingness to work in radiation‐controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas. Work may require individual to don radiation and environmental protection equipment (plastics or equivalent dress, supplied air breather equipment, fall protection, etc.). Some work may be in high radiation areas and congested work spaces. May require work on systems that are locked out tagged out
  • Ability and willingness to work up to 12 hours a day, 7 days per week, on various shifts when delivering field projects
  • Ability to successfully complete Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) and Cyber Security training
  • Ability to successfully complete skill specific training (80% or higher)
  • Ability to travel to and work in the US with proper authorization
  • Must submit to physical examinations when required for working at a customer site
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to pass respirator fit test and physical
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability and willingness to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and skills
  • Hands on mechanical/technical experience
  • Proficiency with computers for online training, communications, expense, and time entry
  • Experience performing maintenance and/or inspection at nuclear outages
  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant refueling, maintenance, inspection
  • Knowledge of BWR vessels and components, Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS) and Containment Buildings
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to develop team relationships
  • Ability to handle high stress conditions
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to understand and follow a schedule
