We are looking for a Package Manager to join an extensive 20-year framework project known as PPP (Programme and Project Partners).

Role description

What will you be doing?

You’ll be supporting the Project Manager for delivery of the Crane Package from Design, manufacture, delivery, commissioning and site acceptance. That’ll mean you’ll be coordinating everything from tenders to procuring and ensuring smooth fabrications transition.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Chairing Technical Bid Clarification meetings with Vendors and representing the project at Vendor design and fabrication progress meeting
  • Coordinating with Engineering and Quality Management to ensure the integrity of the design, no fabrication faults and reduce risk of damage during transportation
  • Identifying any risks associated with the packages and facilitate risk mitigation meetings and track those agreed actions
  • Reporting progress relating to the packages Design, Fabrication and delivery to site to the Planning Team.

Essential skills

What about experience?

Crane/ lifting equipment experience is essential and that should include for quality, vendors and packing up for transportation. Experience of crane projects in the design phase moving into construction and commissioning would be ideal and that should cover components (not detail design). A commercial working knowledge of NEC contracts is also important.

Desired skills

Nuclear isn’t an absolute, but experience of working in highly regulated process environments is a good alternative.

Rate/Salary

What are the terms?

All roles are offered upon a permanent basis and this case salary will sit up to around 70- 72K, experience dependent. Holidays are offered at 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with a variety of benefits offered.

This is a Monday to Friday role and Warrington is preferred with travel to Cumbria when needed. The conversation around remote working currently taking place.

About PPP (Programme and Project Partners)

The PPP model will revolutionise project delivery at Sellafield nuclear site. It will help deliver 17 major construction projects associated with developing the infrastructure required for the reprocessing and making safe of nuclear waste material. This will ultimately support the transformation of Sellafield from a nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation, with a value of close to £7 billion.
