Do you have experience of managing project packages in the design phase moving into construction and installations?
We are looking for a Package Manager to join an extensive 20-year framework project known as PPP (Programme and Project Partners).

Role description

What will you be doing?

You’ll be supporting the Project Manager for delivery of the Detailed Design Phase for two key streams with a focus upon getting into the day- to- day details with the design team for activities such as project variations, change control, scheduling and chasing people for updates, etc.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Inputting and production of Project specific procurement documentation to allow the letting of Detailed design contracts into the supply chain.
  • Liaise with the Design, Safety case, Pre-ops, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning teams for reporting
  • Liaise with other stream work package managers to help deliver the overall programme
  • Identify risks associated with their allocated works, assess their probability, impact, proximity and record in ARM

Essential skills

What about experience?

The role would suit a manager that is good at digging into detail and has the confidence to push for what is needed within project controls. More specifically experience of projects in the design phase moving into construction and installations would be ideal. This is a real people focused role so ability to engage and build relationships is absolutely essential. A commercial working knowledge of NEC contracts is also important.

Desired skills

Nuclear isn’t essential, but experience of working in highly regulated process environments would be a good fit.

Rate/Salary

What are the terms?

All roles are offered upon a permanent basis and this case salary will sit up to around £70- £72K, experience dependent. Holidays are offered at 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with a variety of benefits offered.

This is a Monday to Friday role. Warrington or Cumbria would be fine for an office location, with the conversation around remote working currently taking place, but there is a heavy focus for West Cumbria for this project and being present in that location each week will be preferred when everything opens back up.

It will help deliver 17 major construction projects associated with developing the infrastructure required for the reprocessing and making safe of nuclear waste material, ultimately supporting the transformation of Sellafield from a nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation, with a value of close to £7billion.

Did you know?

Sellafield Nuclear site has been open since 1947, initially starting out to support Britain’s nuclear deterrent programme and is now one of the biggest infrastructure delivery organisations in the UK, with a range of mega projects that will cost at least £1 billion each.

Please note you must be able to achieve nuclear security clearance for this position (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels)

I’ve been within recruitment for over a decade covering fast paced contract recruitment, project recruitment and account management, within large scale business and niche consultancy environments, all within the nuclear industry. I am passionate about the point where company meets individual to ensure the best fit professionally, personally and culturally, and providing an excellent customer service sits at the core of everything I do and strive to deliver.
