Role description

Our client, Collaborative Environmental Advisers Ltd (CEA Ltd) is a consultancy specialising in environmental consenting and permitting support for energy projects and developments, with marine and intertidal components.

The CEA team has a collective experience of over seven decades track record in supporting energy projects throughout all lifecycle stages, from project development through to operation and ultimately decommissioning. CEA has a proven track record in providing robust strategic and technical advice and assisting small to large-scale projects in the nuclear, renewables and cabling sectors in the UK and further afield.

As a CEA team member, you will help to continue to develop CEA’s presence in the nuclear sector through technical work and business development activities.


Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Responsibilities include (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Lead technical work on nuclear projects, including the provision of technical advice and authoring of technical reports.
  • Support in the delivery of project management services.
  • Undertake business development activities, which includes identifying opportunities, developing relationships and supporting bid applications.
  • Perform peer review of documentation, including Intelligent Client reviews of third-party deliverables.
  • Assist with the maintenance of CEA’s ISO accreditations (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHAS 18001).
  • Assist and support work in other areas of the business when required (i.e. renewables and interconnectors).

Essential skills

The individual must be able to demonstrate a number of the following:

  • Experience of working or regulating in the nuclear industry.
  • Proactive approach with proven track record in managing stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Clear, concise communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to build effective relationships and influence.
  • Good understanding of the requirements of ISO 14001.

Desired skills

  • Experience within an environmental discipline outside of the nuclear industry to be able to assist when required with other areas of the business (renewables and interconnectors).
  • Good understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001, and OHAS 18001.
  • Project Management experience.
