For one of our client based in France we are recruiting 2 Project Engineers Leads to work on the project Hinkley Point C to be in charge of the detailed design, qualification, procurement, construction and commissioning of Classified Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Role description

Reporting to the Project Director, he/she is responsible for the successful execution of work packages assigned to them, and members of their Project Engineering team, within budget, schedule and to quality.

The Project Engineering team have three core functions in the delivery of the project:

  • In conjunction with the engineering, qualification, planning and procurement teams, he/she shall perform the technical, quality, and scheduling exchanges with material suppliers
  • In conjunction with the qualification team, he\she shall be responsible for the delivery of material qualification work packages successfully- In conjunction with the procurement and quality team, he/she shall expedite the manufacturing and delivery of all main plant and in-line materials from the supplier to the logistics warehouses

 

Responsibilities

  • To execute and expedite the work packages assigned to them by the Management team, on time, to budget, quality and in accordance with the contract and specification
  • To coordinate and expedite the different functions within the project and provide regular reporting to management
  • To perform the technical, quality, and scheduling exchanges with material suppliers to resolve technical queries, non-conformances, and define delivery schedules that are consistency with the site construction dates, and enabling negotiation with the suppliers by the procurement team
  • To execute and expedite the delivery of material qualification work packages successfully, providing regular reporting of progress, identifying and notifying change
  • To expedite the manufacturing and delivery of all main plant and in-line materials from the supplier to the logistics warehouses
  • Regularly assess the % of progress, remaining work and due date for completion
  • To identify, capture and assess change
  • To identify, capture and manage technical and project risks and opportunities

Essential skills

  • Experience in the realization of mechanical systems (HVAC or piping) from design phase to site and completion in highly regulated sectors
  • 3 years’ experience as Work Package Manager, or Project Engineering role in highly regulated sectors, or more than 5years on industrial / large commercial projects
  • Project Management experience, demonstrating experience in managing budgets and schedules
  • General electro/mechanical engineering skills to follow and challenge technical design studies, qualification testing, material purchasing, responding to technical queries and to assess non-conformances and deviations from the supply chain
  • Ability to estimate, schedule and expedite work packages from technical studies through to material purchasing and Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and safety
  • Written and oral proficiency in English and French
