Role description

For a well known client operating in the United Arab Emirates, we are currently looking for a Project Manager. This is a long-term job opportunity.

Project Manager is responsible for managing enterprise technology projects from inception through to completion, ensuring timely completion within the set budget, which includes managing internal staff/project members and external contractors that are brought in to provide technical solutions and coordinating shared projects with external stakeholders and partners. In addition, the Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Technology teams in developing and implementing enterprise technology strategy, plan and framework, which sets out the processes, policies, procedures and performance objectives of the department.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Enterprise Technology teams and internal stakeholders to identify enterprise technology related projects and initiatives and agree on project priorities to ensure that client is technologically positioned to achieve organisational objectives
  • Manage, monitor and perform enterprise technology project management activities to ensure that all projects are properly initiated, planned, executed, monitored and closed which includes utilising best project management methodologies and techniques to ensure successful delivery of assigned projects
  • Provide data and reports to the Enterprise Technology and Cyber Manager and section heads periodically, and as requested, and highlight areas of improvement in order to support in decision-making and operational excellence
  • Report on performance results, identify performance gaps and ramifications, and recommend corrective actions that mitigate risks in order to minimise operational interruptions and ensure timely objective and target achievement
  • Establish and maintain beneficial relationships with enterprise technology vendors and contractors, working with enterprise technology, legal and procurement teams to identify and select the appropriate vendor / contractor, and monitor and report on delivery against the contract
  • Direct project team members of various disciplines to support the execution of projects which includes ensuring enterprise technology project teams have sufficient resources to complete projects
  • Develop detailed work plans and identify and sequence activities in order to successfully complete projects
  • Determine the resources (time, money, employees, equipment, etc.) required to complete the projects in the programs within the expected timeframe and additional expectations
  • Monitor all programs’ budgets ensuring minimal variance and ensure that all financial records for programs are up-to-date to support financial control activities
  • Manage all stakeholders involved and ensure an appropriate stakeholder management plan is developed and executed while obtaining necessary inputs in a timely manner
  • Communicate project status and progress to relevant stakeholders on a regular basis and raise any adjustments or impact to the timeline
  • Manage risks identification within ongoing programs and projects, and follow-up on corrective actions implementation in order to solve issues where possible and provide support in solving programs’ delivery issues when needed to ensure on track delivery and minimise risks; ensure appropriate escalation when required (in coordination with the Enterprise Risk Management team)
  • Contribute to plans for Business Continuity and Disaster recovery related to Enterprise Technology in coordination with the Business Continuity Management team
  • Oversee vendor’s performance assessment and delivery quality, and ensure that the documented scope of work is executed, and all relevant procedures are followed
  • Handover products, project deliverables and supporting documents to the project and support teams responsible for further implementation ensuring clear accountability
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and look for ways to implement them within projects
  • Analyse project change requests and ensure change requests are aligned to policies and procedures

Standard Responsibilities:

  • Implement all relevant section policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Execute the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practice’ and changes in business environment, and leveraging This includes supporting the related change management efforts
  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet the section requirements, policies and standards

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Enterprise/Information Technology, Information Systems or related field
  • Must have at least one related certification: Prince2, PMP, Agile
  • Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in enterprise technology project management and delivery
  • Experience in ERP, finance or HR systems

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in a diverse/multi-cultural business industry (obtained from medium to large organisation)
  • Experience in managing Enterprise Technology projects and delivering on the Enterprise Technology strategy in the Energy and Utility sector
  • Experience in a multinational company

Certifications: ITILV4 (Practitioner or Intermediate level), COBIT5 (Assessor level), ISO 20000, SAP (Activate Project Manager), Oracle (CRP), MVP, DevOps. Prince2, PMP, Agile
