Role description

The purpose of the position is to set up and implement a management system compliant with the Dutch and European codes and standards for nuclear management systems.

This is a full-time position based in the north of the Netherlands, but it will also be required to work prolonged periods in the US HQ, especially for the initial training period: this will be necessary to acquire knowledge of the process/nuclear system design requirements.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Independent review of all internal and external (contractor) license application documents to assure the quality of these documents
  • Drafting the European management system based on the existing international management system , including Incorporation of lessons learned and compliant with applicable Dutch and European codes and standards.
  • Support the recruitment effort to select and develop the necessary employees for the European facility (construction and operations phase)
  • Act as the interface between the quality departments.
  • Be an active participant in the Change Control Board
  • Establish cooperative relationships with the operations, maintenance, planning, safety, training, and quality management teams
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits
  • Advise on, support, review and monitor quality, systems and process improvements and corrective actions (CAPA) and new systems development

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (physics, chemical, pharma, etc.) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a highly regulated industry (pharma, nuclear, chemical, mining, etc.)
  • Post-academic radiation safety degree ACD or equivalent (former level 2). Candidates that do not meet this criteria but do have a CD degree should also apply if they are willing to follow the next ACD or equivalent education that will become available in Europe.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills at a sufficient level to deliver effective internal and external correspondence.
  • Must meet all requirements for facility access and Safeguards Information.
  • Candidates must travel internationally and frequently

Essential skills

Strong experience in a highly-regulated industry, with fluent Dutch and English language knowledge
