Role description

For one of our clients in Finland, we are currently looking for a Radiation Protection Engineer to support the commissioning activities on a nuclear new build project in Finland. This is a freelance contract of an initial 6 months with possible extension to be based in Finland.

Responsibilities

  • Generate the licensing and operational documents to receive nuclear sources and fuel
  • Design and realize the controlled zones including access requirements and access zones
  • Commission the controlled zones
  • Operate the controlled zones
  • Define radiation protection measures
  • Supervise radiation protection activities and work
  • Dose rate measurements and balancing
  • Decontamination supervision

Essential skills

  • Several years of experience as a Radiation Protection Engineer in nuclear power plants
  • Experience with a PWR reactor
  • Experience with oxygenation
  • Radiation protection supervision experience during outages in nuclear power plants
  • Knowledge of international and European requirements for radiation protection
  • Experience with decontamination of people and decontamination of systems and materials
  • Knowledge about radiation measurement techniques
  • Ability to work in shifts temporarily
  • Language skills: Fluent English
