Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is looking for a Research Manager (Biosphere) to join them as they progress in the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme – the UK’s largest environmental protection project. As a specialist in biosphere characterisation and assessment, you will underpin the implementation of the GDF programme by:
To be successful in this role you will have experience of undertaking and managing biosphere characterisation and modelling work, along with the underpinning research. You will have a good comprehension of the needs of the environmental safety case for geological disposal and its scientific basis. You will also be familiar with the form, hazard and characteristics of higher activity radioactive wastes, including both their radioactive and non-radioactive components.
In addition, you will draw on your experience of managing relationships with regulators & other external stakeholders as you act as an ambassador for RWM.
Whilst the desire is for an individual with comprehensive experience, this position would also suit an individual who is at an earlier stage within their career and could develop into the role.
