Safety Case Consultant – Orano

We are looking for several Safety Case Consultants to be part of multiple nuclear projects across the UK for our client Orano.

Orano has an established footprint in the United Kingdom built on over 40 years’ experience in the UK nuclear sector. Delivering the full range of its nuclear fuel cycle capability across the British Isles, Orano has provided and continues to deliver services relating to uranium, used fuel management and recycling, nuclear logistics, engineering and nuclear site dismantling. Role description

As a Safety Case Consultant, you will be responsible for the development and production of safety case and support project management. You will join a growing team in delivering technical services to their clients.


  • Produce well-presented and well laid out technical reports that present clear and reasoned arguments with supporting evidence
  • Development and production of safety case documents
  • Direct involvement in the production of several elements of safety cases, in particular, fault analysis and the identification of safety system
  • Directly involved in the design process and interfacing with engineers and specialists
  • Take lead for defined technical work packages in projects and provide deliverables to project requirements
  • Keep the Project Manager, Section Manager and Project Controller up to date with regards project performance, progress against the budget and any relevant changes to the budget, forecast at completion or potential issues
  • Provide support to project managers: project monitoring, tracking of spend (hours and costs via project managers report), identifying opportunities for project growth

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, science or related field of study
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of and experience in the support of, development and production of safety case documents
  • A good working knowledge of scientific and engineering principles and concepts and their application to problem solving
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve problems both from a technical and business perspective, managing competing priorities
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal management and external clients
