Protecting current and future generations is at the heart of Radioactive Waste Management’s (RWM) mission to deliver the UK’s first Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) and provide radioactive waste management solutions.
As Senior Policy Advisor, you will provide authoritative advice on many complex and inter-related socio-political issues as they relate to the GDF siting process. You will join a diverse organisation and develop a wider understanding of successful approaches to socio-political challenges through influence within RWM and key stakeholders.
You will have a firm understanding of how central government operates and knowledge of radioactive waste management policy in the UK, and potentially overseas. Experience of relevant major projects may also be helpful. You will also be capable of becoming a trusted advisory voice, both within RWM and externally, engaging with the public and stakeholders, with your communication skills being called upon continually across a number of levels.
RWM’s vision as an organisation is to create a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment, working in partnership with communities and collaborating with experts on multi-million-pound research programmes and radioactive waste producers to find ways to package it that are suitable for disposal in a Geological Disposal Facility.
We wish to thank all applicants for their interest and effort in applying for this position; however, we can only consider applicants who are eligible to work in the UK (citizen/permanent resident/work permit with sufficient length of validity).
