About the job:

As Senior Project Manager you will:

  • Initiate a complex major asbestos remediation project, managing the full project lifespan from concept and development through to delivery.
  • Management of baseline, change and other areas including, but not limited to:
  • Scope development
  • Tendering
  • Sanction
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the safe delivery of the project to time, cost and quality targets ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory processes
  • Multiple stakeholder management, externally and internally, consistent with the overall strategy of the business and delivery of programmes and projects.
  • Resource and manage a multi-disciplinary project team using with active interfaces to secure specialist resources as required.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Key Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience of delivering projects in a complex and challenging environment in a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience of performing functional tasks on projects with a basic understanding of P25 Magnox Project Management process and procedures
  • Significant experience of supervising and control of project work, demonstrating an understanding of how costs can be reduced, and safe quality outputs maximised within a scope of work.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing own assignments and tasks.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach, willing to take on new work challenges
  • Proactive communicator both internally and externally to the project
  • Customer focused with ability to develop and maintain positive and interactive project relationships
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and an active, innovative approach to problem solving and identifying solutions
  • Proactive reporting of progress and status of assignments including appropriate follow up
  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • A degree, Higher National Certificate (HNC) or other equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant field – Project Management and/or technical discipline
  • Experience of delivering major infrastructure projects in a highly regulated industry from concept to completion – applications are welcome from candidates in and outside of the nuclear industry
  • APM qualification or equivalent
  • NEC3 contract management experience and working experience of CDM regulations would be highly desirable but not essential
