Senior Safety Case Consultant – Orano

We are looking for several Senior Safety Case Consultants to be part of multiple nuclear projects across the UK for our client Orano.

Role description

As a Senior Safety Case Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering complex safety cases, with experience of the full lifecycle of facilities, to a variety of clients and manage projects to a high level, that meet and exceed client expectations particularly on technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical knowledge in areas such as decommissioning, decontamination, transport, human factors, waste management, as well as client specific systems, with experience in all aspects of pulling together and delivering a coherent and robust safety case along with the ability to present the associated technical arguments to clients, their in-house safety teams
  • Deliver complex safety cases in the time to the programme agreed whilst keeping track of the project and keeping all concerned informed of both technical and financial progress
  • Represent the Company on technical matters to clients/external stakeholders
  • Managing complicated safety cases for high hazard category facilities/plants, involving a team of consultants
  • Lead technical discussions and presentation of work to clients
  • Represent the company on technical matters to clients/external stakeholders

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, science or related field of study
  • Knowledge of and experience in the management and production of complex safety cases, for a number of plant types at different lifecycle stages
  • Experience of managing a variety of projects
  • Excellent understanding of the nuclear sector, key clients and supply chain partners
  • Commercial awareness related to bids, project updates, client communications, variations and project extensions
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal management and external clients
