Role description

For one of our clients in Belgium, we are currently looking for a Severe Accident Engineer with nuclear industry design experience and fluency in French or Dutch to join activities for multiple nuclear projects. This is an initial 1-year contract to be based in Brussels.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Perform and document severe accident analyses supporting Level 2 Probabilistic Safety Assessments;
  • Write technical reports about studies performed;
  • On-demand, realize complex deterministic severe accident analyses using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g. MELCOR code, ASTEC code);
  • Contribute to defend your work to the Belgian Safety Authorities.

Essential skills

  • With a Master in Engineering or a Master in Physics;
  • With at least 5 years of experience in the domain of engineering studies;
  • With a background in analysing severe accident conditions, as well as being familiar with related international codes, standards, and best-practices;
  • With knowledge of the Belgian nuclear domain;
  • Able to communicate (write/speak) in English and French or Dutch;
  • Interested to become a high-level expert in these topics
