Role description

We have a current opportunity for a Spare Parts Engineer (Mechanical)on a contract basis for an initial 6 months contract and a possibility of extention for a continuous support during the plant operation/maintenance linked to nuclear mechanical spare parts. The position is based in Finland for a major nuclear new build under commissioning phase.

As a Spare Parts Engineer, you would do the following activities:

  • Check of completeness of ordered Scope per Spare part list in close contact with responsible for Physical Handover
  • Identify scope which is in warehouse but not yet assigned to Spare Parts
  • Issuance of PR’s for remaining scope to be ordered
  • Close contact with procurement team in case of questions on the issued PR’s
    • Answer request for clarification from Suppliers provided by buyer
    • Review the supplier offer provided by buyer and confirm it is compliant with PR requirements
  • Check of orders received against the requirements of the PR
  • Keep the Spare Parts at the latest configuration:
    • Check and report status of CR’s
    • Change products due to obsolescence
    • Assess the impact of all DCR / DCO on scope
    • Update the Spare Parts list due to: DCR/DCO impact, Item Code clarifications with end client, update from suppliers, Open points linked to Design Handover
    • Answer to Open points linked to Design Handover file

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Engineering background in a relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear mechanical equipment (spare parts)
  • Computer literacy in MS-Office and databases
  • Understanding of quality documentation and certificates
  • Knowledge of Electrical equipment could be beneficial
