KeySource Thomas Thor has been engaged by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) to fill the Thermalhydraulics Specialist position at their Chalk River Laboratories in the upper Ottawa Valley. The thermalhydraulics specialist leads the development and application of computer codes and analysis tools in support of design and safety analysis of current and advanced nuclear reactors.

The Systems & Safety Analysis Branch is responsible for the development and application of computer codes and analysis tools in support of design and safety analysis of current and advanced nuclear reactors. Capabilities in the areas of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and neutronics modelling and analysis are applied to safety assessments and analysis for design-basis and beyond-design-basis accidents, and severe accident scenarios. The branch also develops advanced reactor concepts and technologies. The work involves proposing viable R&D projects to satisfy CNL’s S&T needs, execution of projects, documentation and publication of results for the customer and the wider international community.
