Role description

What will you be doing?

The team you will join is primarily focused upon the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of waste management operations and your role will join that mission.

You’ll be involved with characterising the different wastes (including those which aren’t radioactive) before turning the data into information projects can use and develop into compliance packages, ready for waste transportation and disposal or storage at their final destinations.

The site base for this role is Hinkley in Somerset, with a hybrid working mix and Magnox operates to a 4- day working week.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

This is a highly technical role. You’ll need to be confident with numbers and other forms of data. You won’t just be sat behind a desk but will be out on site interacting with colleagues and different departments, so you should be comfortable talking to a wide range of people.

As before, this is a development position. You should have prior waste management experience, and this could have come from the nuclear industry or other similar, perhaps with some knowledge of low- level and high- level wastes. Your experience will be built upon with structured training to develop you into a subject matter expert as a Waste Engineer.
