Are you an experienced technical author that is interested in being part of one of the largest environmental projects in the UK? Join RWM to play a key role in the development of UK’s Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme.

RWM’s vision is to create a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment.

RWM’s mission is to deliver a Geological Disposal Facility and provide radioactive waste management solutions. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the NDA, RWM’s programmes of work deliver Government Policy, and NDA Strategy, for radioactive waste management.

As a Waste Package Specification Manager, you will be responsible for the development and management of waste package specifications.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the production of waste package standards and specifications based on appropriate disposal concepts and underpinning safety cases
  • Responsible for providing advice on waste package requirements for materials that might be declared as waste
  • Responsible for the performance of technical evaluations, in specified areas, as part of specific LoC assessments

Requirements:

  • Relevant Science or Engineering Degree
  • Experience of the nuclear industry, or similar engineering industry.
  • Proven track record of producing technical documentation within time, cost and quality constraints and for a range of audiences

You communication skills and personable attitude will be an asset to the team and will enable you to liaise with a wide variety of directorates, stakeholders and peers.
