Role description

We are looking for an Area Planner to join in an extensive 20-year framework project known as PPP (Programme and Project Partners), with an estimated value of £6.5billion. The PPP model will revolutionise project delivery at Sellafield nuclear site and help deliver 17 major construction projects associated with developing the infrastructure required for the reprocessing and making safe of nuclear waste material, and ultimately support the transformation of Sellafield from a nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation.

Responsibilities

As an Area Planner, you will maintain the planning framework for the relevant portfolio or business area. Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing planning strategy with the team, and then develop a database for the Project Execution Plan.
  • Developing project specific programs that clearly identify the project processes and linking of activities as required for multi-functional project team interfaces.
  • Reviewing all appropriate engineering, procurement, manufacturing and site construction project programs and review and prepare variance reports for the Planning Lead and Planning Managers attention highlighting any variance from agreed programmes.
  • Issuing project program update reports in accordance with the requirements of the Planning Manager and the Project Execution Plan.
  • Organizing relevant documentation and progress reports to build, maintain and report accurate event profiles (e.g., cost, resource and schedule forecasts).

Essential skills

You will be experienced in P6 and MS Project and experience within engineering/construction is ideal. You will have supported or delivered schedules so this role would suit whether you are earlier on in your career or ready for a jump up to the next level.
