Thomas Thor Associates is seeking high caliber, motivated Electrical Engineers who have experience developing secure transportation systems to support NNSA’s Office of Secure Transportation (OST) on behalf of our client Longenecker & Associates (L&A). This role will be located at the Sandia National Laboratory campus in Albuquerque, NM.

 

Role description

Previous experience and knowledge of the Safeguards Transporter (SGT) is preferred but not required. Individual will work collaboratively with technical and Federal Staff on high priority nuclear weapons transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the design, development, and integration of command, control, and communication technologies used in specialized transportation security systems
  • Experience using a wide range of technologies, including analog and digital electronics, lasers, optical fiber, RF technologies, software and firmware development, and testers
  • Research experience in the areas of high consequence software systems, custom embedded circuit design, wireless network communications, intelligent power conditioning and distribution, navigation systems, and sensors

Essential skills

  • 2 years’ experience developing, analyzing, and testing technologies for electrical communications systems applications
  • Experience in one or more of the following design areas:
    • Analog circuit design
    • Embedded system design
    • FPGA firmware development
  • Proven strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact constructively with all levels of management, subject matter experts and external agencies.
  • Active Q clearance or must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Access Authorization (security clearance) eligibility requirements, as required.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience

Since obtaining her Bachelor’s in Psychology degree from Case Western Reserve University Jaleesa has become a senior level results driven HR professional with 11 years focused experience in Strategic Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement and Talent Development initiatives. From supporting small-mid size international companies to regional large organizations employing 15,000-33,000 people, Jaleesa gained extensive knowledge in many aspects of the Human Resources field and recently obtain her SHRM Senior Certified Professional certification in July 2019 after also renewing her CDR (Certified Diversity Recruiter) designation.
