Role description

Looking to make an impact? Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is looking for a Governance Manager to join them. RWM is responsible for delivering one of the UK’s largest environmental infrastructure projects and your work will ensure the data governance framework is maintained effectively.

You will ensure new governance arrangements are successfully established and delivered.


  • Lead the new RWM internal GDF governance arrangements and programme-level documentation, control the schedule of activities to be undertaken, maintain the drumbeat.
  • Create and maintain the data governance framework, including processes, standards ensuring the exploitation of data is balanced with need for protection.
  • Act as Secretariat to the internal GDF Boards including the production of agendas, coordination of papers and maintaining PMO calendars.
  • Attend and minute meetings, track actions and ensure all relevant information is presented to GDF boards and key governance groups to enable effective decision-making.
  • Oversee all GDF programme assurance deliverables, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with approved plans and milestones, and to provide quality assurance of all deliverables to meet multi-organisational standards and formats
  • Take ownership for the maintenance of an Assurance register and provide a first point of escalation for assurance-related matters that arise in the GDF programme and for troubleshooting their mitigation

Essential skills

You will have experience providing governance support on large-scale infrastructure projects as well managing key relationships with stakeholders.

You should have experience as a board secretariat and will use that knowledge to partner with other secretariats ensuring papers and reports are coordinated effectively.
