Role description

For one of our clients, we are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-growing international organization based in Lyon, France. This is a permanent role.


Within the tooling and system service the mechanical engineer is responsible for:

  • The basic and detailed design of cutting tools or handling equipment used for the dismantling of nuclear facilities,
  • The writing of technical specifications,
  • The supervision of the studies carried out by subcontractors,
  • The supervision of manufacturing and testing phases,
  • The management of one or several engineering assistants or drafters.

Essential skills

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or bachelor’s degree with a strong background.
  • Preference for experience in the nuclear industry and experience in the dismantling of nuclear facilities would be a plus.
  • Industrial experience from other industries will also be considered
  • At least 3 years of experience in the design of cutting tools or handling equipment.
  • Operational level of English
  • Good Level of French and native level in another foreign language, in particular: German / Italian / Spanish / Japanese / Russian
  • Analytical and summarizing skills.
  • Capacity for teamwork.
