Role description

The ideal candidate will be a CPA that creates and interprets financial statements and reports for four companies, including commentary and analysis for Group. Furthermore, you will support assigned area managers with budgeting, latest estimate and 10-year business plan processes. Compiling financial information and reconciles reports and financial data will be a crucial part of the role. You will also be responsible for understanding all departmental tasks with the ability to perform those functions in relief.


  • Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with IFRS in a highly detail-oriented and organized manner.
  • Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations by ensuring that all work conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Verify documents for completeness and compliance with internal controls.
  • Review and process journal entries into various accounts while performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations with superior analytical and problem-solving skills and present them in a professional manner.
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve differences.
  • Explain accounting transactions; resolve accounting issues and discrepancies serving to enforce and monitor compliance with company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
  • Complete operating knowledge of various software applications and understands all transactional behavior of the ERP software to identify and resolve accounting issues and resolve.
  • Assists with the development and execution of pro forma modeling
  • Document, understand and explain data for internal controls in support of audit team to include preparation of IFRS interpretations as applied to UUSA procedures.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

The ideal candidate

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • CPA is required
  • 5-10 years of related accounting experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a DOE Q or L level clearance.

She was also responsible for program reporting and analytics and partnering with Colleges/Universities within FirstEnergy footprint to attract top and diverse talent. Since obtaining her Bachelor’s in Psychology degree from Case Western Reserve University Jaleesa has become a senior level results driven HR professional with 11 years focused experience in Strategic Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement and Talent Development initiatives. From supporting small-mid size international companies to regional large organizations employing 15,000-33,000 people, Jaleesa gained extensive knowledge in many aspects of the Human Resources field and recently obtain her SHRM Senior Certified Professional certification in July 2019 after also renewing her CDR (Certified Diversity Recruiter) designation. She is comfortable working with all levels of leadership from customer service reps and line supervisors to Sr. VPs and CIOs.
