Senior Consultant, Executive Search

The Senior Consultant, Executive Search will support Thomas Thor and the Thor Executive business in
North America, partnering with teammates and clients to obtain a clear view on strategic hiring needs
and to develop, implement and execute on a targeted talent acquisition strategy for client needs.

This role will be involved in all steps of the recruitment process, beginning with Client Management and
including talent mapping, sourcing, and developing candidate and client relationships. Utilizing your
industry intelligence and developing expertise in the energy talent market, you will become a trusted
resource to candidates, clients, and your colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • As a Senior Consultant, Executive Search, you will oversee the executive recruiting process on searches assigned to you, working with clients to understand their strategic and financial objectives to meet those needs.
  • Process management includes overseeing the full recruitment cycle with clients and candidates.
  • You will execute search techniques to generate pipelines of active and passive candidates necessary for client positions through direct sourcing methods such as networking, referrals, social media, research, and cold calling.
  • Contact sourced candidates to present and discuss the opportunity, client value proposition and unique selling points of the role.
  • Screen and interview candidates to ensure they are fully suitable for the role.
  • Present candidates to clients to maximize the chance of moving them forward to the interview
    process.
  • Manage the interview, offer and acceptance process by effectively guiding both the candidate
    and client throughout.
  • Consult with clients to assist with making informed staff decisions.
  • Advise candidates to help them make the best career choices.
  • Maintain post placement relationships with clients and candidates to encourage repeat business.
  • Use the Applicant Tracking System in the search and recruitment process, documenting and tracking activity.
  • Develop project documents and client deliverables.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks and workflows independently.
  • Proactively build relationships with potential candidates to gather information about market conditions and industry movements within the North American nuclear sector.
  • Maintain a continuous learning attitude regarding the North American and develop strong industry relationships through active networking.
  • Strengthen Thomas Thor and Thor Executive global reputation with clients, candidates and applicants.
  • Identify potential business opportunities through communication and relations with candidates and clients, referring leads to the North American Business Development team for further development.
Skills and Qualifications
  • BS/BA or equivalent undergraduate degree
  • Prior agency leadership search experience is required
  • Experience in the energy industry is valued.
  • Proficiency with a Candidate Applicant Tracking System and a CRM system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including, the confidence and ability to liaise with senior-level clients and candidates
  • A flexible mindset and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A self-starter that is able to fulfill duties that do not require supervision; can independently manage their work without needing constant guidance or direction from a manager.
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and follow through
  • A natural curiosity to understand what makes people tick and who thrive in different environments
  • High integrity, can maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical values when challenged
  • Strong proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
