Role introduction

The future direction for Magnox is changing and our portfolio is rapidly expanding. We are gearing up for a major transformation and have recently restructured to ensure we are set up for success. This means we now have vacancies for a range of Programme Delivery Managers across a number of our Magnox sites.

This presents a fantastic opportunity for experienced, capable, and driven Programme Delivery Managers to join our team with roles at the following sites; Sizewell A, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Oldbury/Berkeley, Harwell, Winfrith and Wylfa. With programmes of work spanning the next two decades, and a variety of some of the most technically complex challenges in the UK, Magnox is a great place to be for innovative and collaborative professionals who thrive in challenging and unique project environments. We seek leaders with a track record of delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects and programmes in a regulated environment, and would welcome candidates that will bring their knowledge, best practices, and experience into the team.

These roles will be site-facing, although base location could be flexible. As a senior manager in the organisation, the successful candidate can also expect to be involved in wider programme activities across the fleet.



  • Ensure the safe delivery of programmes/projects to time, cost and quality ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory process requirements and in accordance with the programme execution and commercial baselines
  • Support, communicate, implement and maintain Execution Plans by maximising lessons learned, embedding sustainable delivery practices, and optimising business benefits
  • Strategically manage risk and uncertainty across the programme to aid robust decision making
  • Establish the strategic direction for, and prioritise, programmes of complex projects to deliver value aligned with the mission
  • Responsible for defining and maintaining project/programme organisation and resource requirements; leading and developing large multi-disciplined project teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • A key member of the site leadership team, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve the mission
  • Develop and nurture working relationships, demonstrating empathy and fairness as an authentic leader in a culturally diverse business setting
  • Responsibility for the development of others, ensuring that teams are capable, competent, resilient by establishing a supportive culture and engaging working environment


Skills and Experience

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline
  • Programme or project delivery experience of high value or complexity in a highly regulated industry
  • A proven track record in leadership at a senior level
  • Experience of delivering and managing change in complex organisation
  • APM qualification of PMQ or equivalent
  • Current safety leadership qualification, e.g. IOSH, SMSTS or equivalent
  • Experience of developing others
