We are currently looking for a Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Component Engineer to join our advanced light water reactor (ALWR) engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of technical requirements and design parameters for NSSS components, working under ASME NQA‑1 quality assurance requirements and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines. The position involves performing detailed design and stress analyses of pressure vessels, reactor internals, and primary equipment supports in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III, utilizing proven state‑of‑the‑art engineering methodologies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced knowledge of engineering discipline, industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Perform and document component evaluations in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III, including analysis of pressure, mechanical and thermal loadings, primary stress, primary plus secondary stress intensity ranges, and fatigue.
  • Use analysis results to optimize component design.
  • Conduct stress analyses using ANSYS finite element tools and work with CAD packages.
  • Interpret project scopes and technical requirements.
  • Maintain and develop training qualifications; mentor and guide other engineering staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design activities and resolve technical issues.
  • Provide technical leadership within the NSSS Component Analysis Group and oversight of engineering results.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) from an ABET‑accredited university.
  • Significant relevant engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience using ANSYS for stress analysis in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III (Subsections NB, NG, and/or NF).
  • Additional desired experience includes: Seismic and dynamic analysis; Programming skills (ANSYS APDL, MATLAB, Python)
