We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Advisor to join a nuclear new build project in the Netherlands. In this role, you will support one or more sub-projects focused on developing technical specifications for key parts of the nuclear power plant. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will concentrate on specification areas related to electrical engineering. You will coordinate the review and approval process with internal and external stakeholders. As the project progresses, you will continue in a similar capacity by coordinating and approving proposed designs, ensuring they are fully validated against the defined technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help define and validate the scope of work for electrical engineering components of the RFQ.
- Prepare or review detailed technical specifications, drawings, and performance criteria to be included in the RFQ documents.
- Ensure specifications are aligned with project objectives, regulatory standards, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with the procurement and legal departments to develop complete RFQ packages (technical + commercial terms).
- Provide technical input for vendor qualification criteria.
- Support in determining evaluation metrics and weightings for bid assessment.
- Participate in vendor outreach or pre-RFQ market consultations
- Support the pre-qualification process by evaluating vendor capabilities based on past performance, technical capacity, and safety standards.
- Support the technical evaluation of received quotations.
- Organize and manage clarification rounds with vendors regarding technical details in their proposals.
- Compare technical aspects of bids and support final recommendation for contract award.
- Identify technical risks related to the scope in the RFQ and suggest mitigations.
- Ensure compliance with national/international standards (e.g., Eurocode, NEN), nuclear safety requirements, and environmental legislation.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A completed Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree (WO) is preferred.
- Significant experience working on large and complex infrastructure and/or construction projects, including active involvement in at least one project with a scope of €500 million or more.
- Understanding of Electrical Engineering for large infrastructure projects
- Understanding of Electrical Engineering applied to Electricity Generation
- Understanding of Tennet regulations and requirements, and of European regulations applied to electricity generation
- Experience in the field of large scale electricity generation with large scale turbines/alternators (coal or gas, if not nuclear)
- Good to have understanding of regulated infrastructures, hence understanding of the Dutch Electrical Regulations
